Dominique & Jerry | 1.21.17

Dominique and Jerry's wedding was the first to take me out of the country. This was my first chance to really combine my two passions, weddings and travel photography. This adventure was set to the backdrop of the Caribbean island of St. Kitts. The bride and groom were gracious enough to let me attend and photograph their intimate destination celebration. It was a two day affair, starting with a bumpy puddle hopper plane trip from St. Maarten to St. Kitts that wouldn't have been out of place in an Indiana Jones movie. The ceremony took place on the beach surrounded by grassy mountains and craggy stone shorelines. At sunset the local fishermen came out to pull in their colorful catches. We spent the day after the wedding exploring the island. Wild monkeys, fading murals, palm trees, and ancient sugar mill ruins made it a photographer's playground. I loved being able to spend so much one-on-one time with the bride and groom without all of the pressures of a typical wedding day. Their willingness for adventure, and to stop whenever we saw a new amazing location, fed my passion for landscapes and portraits. I hope to do this again very, very soon...   --m
